The workmanship I received was way below average. The small sofa was lumpy and badly stuffed, the dining chairs were inconsistently finished, and the occasional chairs did not match the light natural finish I requested.
In practical terms, I was left with eight badly finished dining chairs, one lumpy sofa and two occasional chairs that I consider ruined. I believe every item will now have to be professionally redone or scrapped.
When I stopped the remaining work, the unused portion of my deposit was not returned, even though that work had not been done. I felt taken advantage of. Based on my experience, do not use Washiela Solomons Interiors. Look elsewhere.

How I found the business
The Best Thing Ever (BTE) and Washiela Solomons Interiors
I originally found Washiela Solomons Interiors through The Best Thing Ever (BTE) website, where the business was listed for curtains and upholstery in Cape Town. I contacted the business for furniture upholstery and reupholstery work involving dining chairs, a small sofa and occasional chairs.
When I tried to submit my negative experience, the owner of BTE said that negative feedback was not allowed there and that I should post it on HelloPeter instead. This was frustrating because I found and selected the business through BTE, not through HelloPeter. My review was not published on BTE.
The message also said that a listed business would be removed only if BTE received more than one negative report about it. This meant that my first negative report did not result in the listing being removed. This is a factual account of my experience and the message I received; I do not know how BTE handles cases other than those described in that message.
